Smile Awhile Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Smile Awhile

Keep those hopes and dreams alive
and your future will survive;
make the most of each new day
may your heart show you the way.

Smile awhile when you are low
be kind to everyone you know;
comfort the ailing child at night
help the blind man see the light.

Think of thy neighbour as thyself
honour love even more than wealth;
be faithful to The One above...
stay pure within ~ just as the dove.

Give to the homeless and the poor
count not the cost, close not the door;
consider the old folk in all you do
and tomorrow's sun will shine on you.

OH Joyce I really have to agree with this. If only people would come out of their little cocoons and look around a little, they would see a world that is beautiful, and not one filled with war, crime, hate, bigotry, discrimination, and greed. There was a blind man many yers ago that also could talk or hear. He had a whistle he blew every time he wanted to cross the street. One day when I was walking by, I saw som teenage boys laughing at him. I tapped the man on the shoulder, and he grabbed my are and I took across the street. It i sad when healthy young boys have to beat up the frail, the old, and the defenseless, and it is another shame when they have to make fun of someone's handicap. There is a prayer that I use on another site, whenever I give a comment, and I think it is fitting here. May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love and who love you, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))) , your sister in Christ our Lord, Barbara
