Smiling Mask Poem by prathit GOVIL

Smiling Mask

Rating: 4.5

I was once sad and lonely,
having nobody to comfort me,
so i wore a mask that always smiled;
To hide my feelings behind a lie.

In a world where brotherhood of man has been jettisoned and selfishness embraced, I think wearing a mask that that always smiled, though a lie, is both appropriate and commendable. A well articulated piece of poetry nicely encapsulated with insight. Thanks for sharing. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON.
