Snafu Poem by John Leroy Maxwell

Snafu

Here we go again, preparing for another day,
just wanting to do things right
But nothing seems to be going well, as I try
with all of my might
The alarm went off, I fell out of bed, tripped
on the rug, and hit my head
I said a few words that weren't exactly nice,
then I jumped in the shower, but the water was
as cold as ice
Putting on my clothes, a smile erased my doubt
I was looking pretty good, but my shirt was
inside out
Looking better now, my feet began to dance
But something didn't feel right, I forgot my
underpants
Putting on my socks and shoes, and lagging
in my pace, my shoelace broke, my fist came
back and hit me in the face
That was it, to myself I said, to this Snafu I'll
be forever wed
I shucked my clothes, tripped over the same
rug, and fell face first back into the bed
