Snakes Poem by Melissa Hennessy

Snakes

Tell me what lies behind your lips;
those snakes are dancing around your tounge.
I know you taste it,
I know your hear the songs they play.
Oh, that trance they have you in
has you dragging deeper into your sin.

The poison in your veins
will drip from every gash.
I lie in your pool of blood.
I feel this distraught.
Oh, that trance they have you in
has you dragging deeper into your sin.

And they scream on the top of their lungs
'til they burst with fluid they cannot swallow.
Your the burden that I cannot let go.
Your my hope that I will see in better days.
But, that trance they have you in
has you dragging deeper into your sin.

So they may slither under your skin
and they may peirce your eyes
But their death will come soon
one at a time.
But, that trance they have you in
has you dragging deeper into your sin.
