Hypnotized Poem by Melissa Hennessy

Hypnotized

Rating: 5.0

Within the crowd, your blood points you out- a sharp edge about you.
Oh so intrigued by attention.
The span of your audience is wearing thin,
so give it a
hit.
You’re the designer of impostures.
Go ahead; yell
fire!
all you want,
but the water is stolen by the heated neighborhood kids.

Strip away your gems,
you don’t deserve glory.
Your love is tasteless
and your kiss is
deserting…
In history, we’ve never met such a fake.
Hold your weapon on your hip.
1…2...step.
It’s your backwards walk you’ve practiced
with speed and precision.

When the emergency strikes you,
you better not loose your nerve.
Last call for a defeat.
They’ve tied you down
and stripped you of all your
dignity.
A mouth full of blood- this is what you wanted.
The earth has served you scripts of digression.
Just get used to this.
This is what your sick mind has dreamed of.

Condemn the passage you swore was true.
A life story made up in a library of deception.
Such a sweet talker.
Always dragging in the minds of the innocent to feel sorry for you.
So spoiled rotten- everyone has caught on.
Quite intoxicating; this drift of lanes.
You’re so insane.
Right on; you’re seeing my point!
After all, they wish
you were dead.

Don’t try to protect your
“innocence.”
There’s nothing left.
Now you owe it to us
to let us
have our way with you.
It’s the end
of the line
of your hypnotic
destruction.

Commendable work, young lady....Graphic, and poignant depiction employed... Effulgent imagework...Creative use of simple, yet impactive lexicon. You possess natural largess for creative writing.Good Luck! ~ FjR ~
