Snapshots Poem by Carolina May

Snapshots

Heading downtown; the long bus ride
I delight in familiar sounds

Landmarks still standing alongside the route;
Omar's supermarket hawking bargains,
Pop still fixing cars in his garage.

The courts; thankful I haven't
business there anymore

The medical center
I associate with recovery.

Giant rainbow reflecting panel
outside the library which I
associate with possibilities.
