Snip Snip Poem by Alc Harris

Snip Snip

Im not superstitous
well thats what I say
maybe just a little
maybe just today
cos I remembered my walk
when I sat in that chair
and something bugged me
as she combed my hair
'whats it to be then? '
I looked around
horrified faces
sat in their gowns
'just a wee bit off...
ah and a little more there..'
oh why did I say
I dont really care
give licence to one
to hack as she does
as though every cut
gives her a huge buzz
'now this side is longer
I'll just make amends'
by taking another
inch or two off the ends
'there, almost finished'
A final loud snip
she surveys me anxiously
hands on her hips
'dont worry my dear
short..your face it does flatter'
oh why oh why
did I walk under that ladder?

Very funny! I think we've all been in that chair Amanda. Nice job. Sincerely, Mary
