Snoopy In Disguise (1998) Poem by Lillian B. Rose

Snoopy In Disguise (1998)

a rainbow spread of colors
fill its bubble letters
the words -
'It's cool to be in school.'
creeping their way through one's mind

During the snowy winter blues
the person desires to scream,
'No - Don't lie to me.'
But still the pastel hues
are not the shade to enrage

borders by
the same light shades
with a two inch margin
sliding around the edges of the sign
boosting up its message

on the left
Joe Cool remains
drawn up in a picture
snoopy hides behind a mask
in a labeled orange sweatshirt

I could stand
to look no more
out of nausea, or sickness
and so I turned my head to find
something else to focus on
