So Called Democracy Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

So Called Democracy

We need to have true leaders and heroes
As mark, where our society stands today
Needs visual archive of fading democracy
The errands of subsistence, a simple story
As told, raw-muted thoughts and emotions.

Is the democracy losing or gaining its place
Due to lack of innovation or existing trends
Losing an art, truthful leaders with free hand
Yesterday, can't suit for today and tomorrow
Mouth-watering treat for low calibre leaders.

Unluckily, using politics as games and sports
Says the golden rules, all isn't fair in the trade
The Maha-Bharata, was also an age of internet
Leaders, used to do hopping to make big gains.

On epics, authors, poets or writers do invent
Invent volumes and volumes of their scripts
But, what makes the saga tick with mystery
Courage, bravery, and valour remain unsung
Getting wild about civil and civil about wild.

When, the magic of power vanishes-
Vanishing notorious empire once shaped
Also flee, watch-dogs of so called democracy.
