So Close And Yet So Far Poem by Spencer Duclos

So Close And Yet So Far

What do you do when you are stuck in the middle?
There is nothing much you can do but feel so little,
It's like being torn in so many ways,
But this is just the first phase.
There is more to come.

How much more, I cannot tell,
I can only think to yell.
How much more pain and suffering will there be,
But I guess this is my fee,
For finding that one that cannot be.

This waiting game is all I have.
What more can I do but sit here and wait,
To ponder upon my fate.
There is much good that could be.
But do I have to suffer first or forever...

How much can I endure?

The background of the poem is about someone who loves a person that is far away, she loves him back but she is already with someone. She loves this person that lives far away more then she loves the person she is with now. She is stuck with good morals of not leaving her current person she is with for another man and being unfair to that person. So the person that lives far away is stuck with waiting, as she tells him so many things of what they do and that she loves him but cant leave the other person without a valid reason.

Great work. But would appreciate it more if you can tell me the background of the poem. Thank you.
