So Few Options Poem by John Sensele

So Few Options

If from a woman's heart should spring
True feelings for me
I'd gladly buy her a wedding ring
To make her see

How much I dare to care
For her comfort
Her wish to wear
My name in an effort to report

Her ascribed hiatus
Conceived in her heart to spend
Our joint future with a fetus
She carries in her womb to mend

Wrongs we'd inflicted on a date
Too playful to ponder
When emotions crushed her fate
Leaving her with so few options that wonder.
