So Much For The Road Not Taken Poem by Zechariah Macon

So Much For The Road Not Taken

I know it was a bad
idea at the beginning
the warning
shouted through my soul
CAUTION
it said
'watch where you step
on people's wounds'
of course i didn't
listen
i never listen
to me
the words
were lost
so they sounded
something of the like
of a cry for revenge
sure i was confused
but i was
even angrier
So i threw little man
CAUTION
to the wind
and gave my mind

Now i'm not going
to say
about paths in woods
or restate some immortal
resolve
but in the end
i made some friends, changed
a few lives, and above all
made a choice

i can't say what would have
happened any other way.

Interesting about acting on a choice and going forth with it. Not sure stepping on wounds is a good idea along the road...however one must live with choices made at tim
