So Very Near Poem by Majed Al Shamsi

So Very Near

Rating: 5.0

A voice, hissing
'Something's missing'
It haunts me everday
The queen of queens
Lost in my dreams
Confused and gone astray

I know her well
Enough to tell
She'd solve my hopeless case
It makes me laugh
My other half
Had stared me in the face

I miss her much
I miss her touch
I wish she was right here
God, change her mind
And she would find
My love, so very near

The skin, so dark
The eyes, they spark
The face, I so adore
Heart of a queen
Mind, very clean
What more could I ask for?

I'd hug her till
She's warm and still
I'd make her feel so safe
I'm loyal and
She'd understand
In her, lies all my faith

I miss her much
I miss her touch
I wish she was right here
God, change her mind
And she would find
My love, so very near

A lovely wife
My kids, my life
It would be off the hook
A heart-ticker
Her cute figure
Demands a second look

If only she
Could clearly see
How I feel deep inside
I bet she'd re-
Consider me
And open her arms wide

I miss her much
I miss her touch
I wish she was right here
God, change her mind
And she would find
My love, so very near
