Social Distancing From You (Not God) Poem by Randy McClave

Social Distancing From You (Not God)

I will social distance myself away from you
That is what I must really do,
I don't want you to get sick or myself to get ill
So, I'll do this until I get a shot, or maybe even a pill.
You know I wear a seatbelt whenever I drive
Because, I want to get to my destinations always alive,
I will wear a covid mask which at all I don't mind
Until the cure for the disease they do finally find.
6 feet away from you I will comfortably stay
Staying 6 feet back from me which is acceptable and okay,
I remember when my parents were younger they were in quarantines
And I remember taking shots, before school as teens.
When I go to church I always wear a Covid mask
I even wear one, when I am asked to do the Lord's task,
And when at church I bow my head down to say a prayer
I make sure that on my pew no one else is sitting there.
My faith and my belief is still with Jesus Christ our savior
He created doctors, and not just preachers for health and behavior,
Wearing a mask or social distancing is not evil or odd
And remember this, I will not social distance myself away from God.
