Society Poem by Lynn Schaefer

Rating: 3.5

Darkness
That is what i see
Consumed
By what we call greed
Box of hope
For the people, without the key
We are enclosed in a holding cell
Forced to say goodbye to what we know well
We are taught, what they want to teach
Hear the lies in there voice as they preach
No child is left behind, you believe what they say
I believe its a lie, see?
They sit back relax and watch the children die
Yet they have the nerve to say 'God bless them as they lay in there tiny grave.'
