Socrates In Cuba, Near Florida Poem by Marcus Bowman

Socrates In Cuba, Near Florida

Rating: 5.0

Consider the method of Socrates
In the Florida Keys.
The lines of Hemingway.
Straight lines like Picasso
Was that Cuban? Sandwich. Or Cigars?
Churchill smoked. Ghandi didn't. He did.
Fast. Like Mario Andretti.
Brothers. Nintendo. Wright.
And bam Lindberg crosses the Atlantic
In charge like Scott Baio
Those were indeed happy... times
Clap along. If you feel
FDR and his New Deal
Teddy Roosevelt, Rockefeller, National Parks
For Adams to photograph. In black and white
Or black or white like the King of Pop.
Muhammed Ali had his own Thrilla.
Red as clay on the Georgia state line
