Socrates' Writing Block Poem by Paul Hartal

Socrates' Writing Block

On a balmy day of early autumn
I decided, out of unexplained curiosity,
to search for Socrates' poems on line.

I went to a popular website of poetry
that features thousands of renowned
as well as little known poets.

When I typed into the search window
the name of Socrates,
the following intelligence appeared
under the "Poems" section:
"This poet did not post
any poems within the last 14 days."

Why? Is it possible
that Plato is involved
in a new anti-poetry plot?
Why would Socrates not post any poems
within the last 14 days?

Or could the reason be, perhaps,
that Socrates suffers from
a serious and enduring writing block,
resulting from his personal situation,
namely, as certain reports claim,
that he died 25 centuries ago.
