Today is May 3rd.
I am standing in our backyard
In my yellow silk dress and turquoise bracelet
While you are away at work
The bright morning sun limns my hair and warms my skin
In that warmth I can feel the promise of hot summer days, and nights
The sun and I are enjoying our special moment together, just the two of us alone
Except for that tiny slice of Sagittarius moon, who won't tell anyone
Meanwhile, on the porch, a jar of mint sun tea steeps in the golden sunlight
sweetened with a kiss of last year's lavender honey from our neighbor's bees
Soft honeysuckle scent delicately breathes around my face
And standing near the strong, knobby tree roots and tender green ferns
I feel the cool, rich soil on the bottoms of my bare feet
And squeezing between my bare toes
This womb of Earth waits patiently for its seeds to sprout again
And I am dreaming
My Love
Of having
Your baby
