Heaven plainly smiled upon you
in the torrents of earthly rain.
Being the beauty that fills my eye,
a warmth by the mention of you name.

I used to dream, like every other
to a solace that I just couldn’t reach.
My life, lost in thoughts of romance,
the words I write, the lessons I teach.

This world of mine or at least my very best
is yours today save the coming night blind us both.
A storm that brews in the west
together we’ll face, you be my reason
and I your never failing poet.

The myths beyond us may never come to be
the classes above us may stumble and fall.
In a moment when all comes so naturally
so be the realisation that beliefs will not tarry love’s call.

As today changes its shape and voice
show me all that’s become of you and I.
We belong to none other better choice –
Softness and time.
