Sojourn. Poem by Safiyyah Manjra

Sojourn.

I miss you,
More than the stomach misses food when in hunger.
More than an eager student.

I miss you for what you were when you were with me.
For such, now, is just a memory.

We have parted.

Maybe not.

If I could have you for a lifetime.
It was my mistake not to give in to that incline.

Thoughts of us being together,
Seems to want to haunt me forever.

Please return,
For this life is only a sojourn.

Oh, what a state!
What has become of this fate?
