Soldier Boy
Her heart missed a beat
As she opened the door
Six weeks earlier
He had gone off to war
A roadside bomb
Had blown off his legs
He had 30% burns
And severe wounds to his chest
Only six weeks today
She had waved goodbye
And prayed to God
He would return alive
But she would not accept
That her son might die
Now only eight months on
He straps his shiny new legs on
So many obstacles he has overcome
He is a born fighter
In more ways than one
And as he collects his treasured medal
A teardropp falls from his proud mother’s eye
WE SALUTE YOU
BRITAIN’S HEROS
EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU
