Some Memories Aren'T Meant To Fade Poem by LeighAnna Williams

Some Memories Aren'T Meant To Fade

As cold as your heart may seem now

i bet the words are just as frozen

i've touched a piece of gold and watched it shatter into chips

i've played the game where you

whisper
watch
kiss
flood
drown

i've been there and back here and there

broken to pieces and sewn together again

i've flown with the stars and cried with the rain

fallen with the hail and swallowed continous pretention

i've written this book so many times

and yet there's no new beginning

but a different ending

i have dripped the rarest rubies

and sobbed the precious emeralds

i've sung over and over again hearing nothing but the hurt

i've been the homeless in the cold and unforgiven

i've been punished, bruised, raped of everything

no choices but the ones i helped torture me

besides just one who was with me

when i felt the world end every day...

he fell in and out tearing me up inside and out.

love is always patient and kind it's never rude or selfish

and yet i still don't know that for real.
