Some Musings On My Past - Poem by Dr. A.Celestine Raj Manohar M.D.,
When I look back into my past, O Lord,
My earthly stay looks so miraculous;
The Lord kept speaking through His divine Word,
Protecting me when life turned treacherous.
The Lord ignored my every fault I made;
His love was bigger than I ever thought;
He led me through the maze of snares, foes-laid;
My every battle in my life, He fought.
He made the cross I carried very light;
At times, He stood against my acts of sin;
He talked to me endearingly at night,
And kept me on the righteous road, and win.
Oh, how I felt I could have better been!
My human weaknesses had weighed me down;
God stayed with me when I was just a teen,
And helped me walk in life, all on my own.
The Lord had planned my life on earth so far;
He helped me reach my ambitions so well;
And now I feel I am a unique star;
His gift of poesy will surely tell.
How do I thank my God for His kindness?
He made my human existence worthwhile;
He made me love Him through His forgiveness;
I emulate Him in my extra mile.
Despair in life has changed into new hope;
I want to spend my life in piety;
There are no things with which I cannot cope;
The cross bestows my soul's sole satiety.
