Some Mystics Proclaim Poem by Mohammad Younus

Some Mystics Proclaim

Some mystics proclaim,
"Love yourself not—
Seek the annihilation of the self."
I pondered this thought,
"To erase you, what remains of me? "

Myself responded:
"You cannot destroy me—
You'd merely become a clod of clay."
I inquired further,
"What this hidden secret, dear Self? "

"You are me, and I am you—
How could one extinguish oneself? "
Thus spoke my Self.
