Some Things Change For The Better Poem by Kimberly Santistevan

Some Things Change For The Better

House full of screams,
Rooms locked and soft cries fill the lonely nights.

Mommy is feeling alone,
Daddy is going away for a while.
Not long, maybe to think about his life,
And what he has done in the past to end up in that square room.

Little sister not feeling so loved,
Middle sister is not able to be so happy.
Older sister thinks it s all her fault,
She has a baby inside her,
Listening to all the loud noise.

Everyone goes to different rooms,
To think about what has just happened.

Maybe thinking of what they ve said,
Or what they thought.

Different emotions all filled up
Trying not to decrease one s feelings.

It s about two months later.
Older sister has a baby daughter,
Whom everybody loves so much.

Older sister has the world in front of her eyes.
Both aunts love their niece.

Everything has calmed down
A week ago Nevaeh was born.
Everyone loving one another
Like nothing bad happened.

Seeing paradise in our little angels eyes.
I am so glad and thankful I have my niece.
Things do change for the better half,
For this, I love them so much.
My family is back together again.
