Someone Remember Me - Poem by Karen Thornburg

When it is time to end
Close my eyes not a sole to pry
Someone remember me

Spent lifetime looking to end despair
Upon angels wings to fly
When it is time to end

Outside the box, I’m always there
The end draws nigh
Someone remember me

Anyone my tears to share?
Agape love, a friend of mine?
When it is time to end

Compassion I had for others is rare
Yet they say goodbye… no tears, no lie.
Someone remember me

Empathy for me in life so rare
Yet cry for them selves when I die
When it is time to end
Someone remember me.

what a wonderful way to capture
what it means to be human
    frail yet so powerfully strong.
