If I seem a bit capricious
its because I don't have a true home
If I seem to be a dreamer
its because my reality hurts
If I seem to be focused on LOVE
its because I struggle to hold that dream
If I seem to be fickled
It is because I don't know where is safe to run
If I seem hurtful
It's because I've been injured deeply
If I seem to lose hope
Its because I feel hopeless often
If I turn away
It doesn't mean I wanted to leave
I just wanted someone to meet me halfway
If I seem wounded
I struggle hard not to show
If I ever lash out suddenly
You hurt me deeply but I can forgive
If I say I'm your friend
I really mean it
If I say I love you
I really feel it
If I get quiet
It means hope is waning or I'm lost in thought
If I should ever kiss you
It will be from the heart
If I should ever hold your hand in mine
You'll feel my soul if you listen with yours
If I should see love in your eyes
I may smile and cry, both
If I hold you tightly
It means I need you
If you need to lean on me
I'll always be strong for you
But lately I realize, I need someone too
someone true!
