Something About You Poem by Gene Washo

Something About You

There is something about you
And I can’t help but ponder it
Your beauty is relevant but not new
Yet you have my attention I must admit

Objective beauty is what attracts most
Depriving the victim of true appreciation and respect
But this attraction considers your beauty a ghost
Not that this is something I would ever neglect

A tantalizing personality is what I suspect
Pulling at the fabric of this inquisitive intellect
Causing an explosion of subconscious vitality
Inspired and seduced by an unseen reality

I wish to experience and understand you
Truly cherish and provide the gratitude that’s due
Ensuring you feel worth more than objectivity
And providing you with my utmost sensitivity
