Something Alive Inside Poem by RIC BASTASA

Something Alive Inside

Rating: 5.0

there is something so alive inside
it has the eyes of the lizard
there is no winking but it is palpitating life
it sleeps there inside the white shell of an egg
it is waiting for time
to leap to another age
where life is more abundant
where there is no end
it waits for me to go outside and
walk away
