She told me that she's hurting
She told me she's in Pain
She told me that I broke her heart
and left her in the rain

She thought that I was someone else
Said what I've done's deranged
She said I looked right in her eyes
And lied straight to her face

I don't know what I did
I don't know how I said it
But I guess I said I'm someone else
And now I'm the one to blame

Now she sees me different
Like somehow I have changed
I'm still the same old me inside
But her faith in me has drained

She told me she feels different
Yet I still feel the same
I just want to hold my love
But the look she gave is strange

I just want to please her
So I do for her what I can
And if this is what she needs of me
For her I'll be a better man
