Sometimes.
Sometimes when I am alone,
And thinking back on my life,
And wondering how I got to this place
where I am,
I wonder if I could have done things differently.
But there is no use in that,
as what will be will be.
The cards that were dealt once,
are the ones you will always see.
If I had taken a different path.
What would my life have been.
Would it have included the white picket fence,
The laughter of a child or their grin.
So many choices one makes along the way.
Who has the right to say,
if they were right or wrong.
Its too late anyway.....
Our expectations are always high,
where we once began.
And as the years dwindle by
they disappear by our own hands.
And as I walk the road ahead,
the dreams I had fly past.
Everything is an illusion
Nothing really lasts!
