Somewhere In Between Poem by John Carter Brown

Somewhere In Between

SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN

I was caught, and I was green
it was love, for the first time
I was slow, and just fourteen
was I guilty of a love crime?

Still she gave me so much joy
sweetest girl I'd ever seen
and I was neither man nor boy
just somewhere in between

She was young, just a teen
I was too - the same old story
she was new, on the scene
pretty as the morning glory

Still she gave me so much joy
sweetest girl I'd ever seen
and I was neither man nor boy
just somewhere in between

and I was neither man nor boy
just somewhere in between.
