Somnium Poem by TANIYA KUNDU

Somnium

Where art thou, my dear friend
A honeysweet dew to mine eyes,
The longing kiss to the neverland,
A tender touch to my tired mind.

Like honey to a busy bumble bee,
A drop of rain to a desert flower,
Like water to the thirsty elephant,
A mirage to the wandering soul.

What art thou, my dear friend.
My sleepless eyes search for you,
My restless mind, troubled hence,
The sands of time trickle away unseen.

You are an essential air for dreams,
You are the moments where life has been,
A time to look into the mirror inside,
The inevitable call of an abyss at night.
