Son Of Disobedience Poem by Itunu Peter

Son Of Disobedience

SON OF DISOBEDIENCE

There're lot of ways
All seem so perfect and beautiful
Yes, decorated with path of gold
With no thistle, stumps or hindrances
Thought I've found the way
Thought I've found my rest
Let me follow the better and perfect path
But I was told
The perfect path isn't perfect for me
It wasn't made for me to walk upon
But was deceived and carried away by sight
Couldn't discern what am made for
Just so lost in the moment.

Truth they say is bitter
Made enmity with the right folks
Abandoned my home, thought they were against me
Oh, my ears were blocked to corrections
Thought I've found the greener pasture
Place of abundant, fulfillment and destiny
But my each steps lead to destruction
I was warned and told
But heed not.

Time, days all seems meaningless
Cuz now am useless to myself
Every breath seem though the last
What I found was full with sorrow and pain
The pasture became a desolate ground
Dad, am sorry
Mum, I don't mean to
I was just lost to the world but am retracing my steps back so I could be found
Now I've come to realize
There's way that seem right into a man
But the end thereof is destruction.
