Sonnet 11 Poem by Matt Baines

Sonnet 11

Rating: 5.0

Have I ever loved, that is the question
For to live here without it would be mad
Should finding it be life's true profession?
Why should looking for you make me so sad?

What is love while in the shadow of death?
One will never know without the feeling
That your love is worth my every last breath
And does take me beyond any ceiling

To love is to recognize everything
My fear, my doubts that do lay within me
Crash when I think of you every evening
Lighting my soul to the highest degree.

As long as I exist then so do you
Letting me start each day fresh and anew.
