Sonnet 23 Poem by doug bentley

Sonnet 23

Rating: 5.0

Seed its branch stretches when
imaged root multiplies in you.
Seed its image multiplies then;
branch takes one form in two!

in breach of fortune, bereft of heir,
image dies. then image interred,
heirs unborn, heirs outcasts are
from estate, to posterity unformed:

outcasts to posterity, image dust,
one generation steals image away:
so image inter in child, and trust
image in child to ever interred stay.

'tis a sin to stop the line of posterity.
inter yourself; serve the line of charity!
