Sonnet 28 Poem by doug bentley

Sonnet 28

Rating: 5.0

our love will be in eclipse
when lights in heaven go out
and the moon from sky drops
and lions from lambs sprout.

then our love, dead to Love,
Light of Heaven extinguished,
the eagle will inter the dove
and night gird day distinguished.

will Heaven two spirits betray
and cause own Seed to kill?
its Image in your image decay
or love divide from Love's Will?

for love's time love will be
intered in audit of poetry.

Well composed. I find the mingling of innocence and experience in this short verse. Liquid imagery with no graphic spot, -make the poem a class by itself. Thank you for your sharing
