Sonnet - 3 Poem by Shankaran Kutty

Sonnet - 3

Rating: 5.0

I asked the Lord in my dreams one night
“When in your presence I find peace
Why do you drag me through this plight
Would my worries ever cease
Everywhere when I looked around
With my friends, neigbours and strangers on road
On their faces only happiness, I found
Content and happy, their faces glowed “
The Lord said “Son, why do you fear
When to me wilfully, did you surrender
When you feel my presence, always near
And only good deeds in your life you daily render
It is them I love and only those I love, my son
Do I test them on earth, for them heaven is won”

It is quite obvious for a man to compare his plight with the happiness radiated by the faces all around 'With my friends, neigbours and strangers on road' but the Lord has a sure shot way.

Yes, But one must strive not to let that comparison, spiral him further into the depths of despair.. That is what I myself would like to do. Thanks Rajnish

Beautiful rhyme and imagery. Only a few selected by the God Himself can even think of such one to one contact with Him through conversation. Enjoyed the poem. Thanks for sharing.
