Sonnet: Death Comes Like A Thief - Poem by Dr. A.Celestine Raj Manohar M.D.,

Death claims much souls regardless of their age
Or sex, community or nation, state;
An act of God, man, Nature none can gauge,
That brings both high and low to the same fate.

The earthquake razes many to the ground,
Buried alive under tons of rubble;
Many will die; their bodies can’t be found;
The lucky few escape despite trouble.

How people fight over a piece of land!
Can they not live with love and amity?
What can they do ‘gainst Nature’s cruel hand?
Helpless is man in such calamity.

Man, listen thy earthly life shall perish;
Renew thy ties with God; be less selfish.
