Sonnet- God, We Seek Thy Aid Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet- God, We Seek Thy Aid

In life, we see a war 'tween good and bad,
Between our conscience and science of man;
The joys of sin enticing us are sad,
And from the devils escape, how men can?

If living is a struggle right from birth,
And suffering's the way for men on earth
And forces of goodness appear a dearth;
How can the Righteous ever gain His Mirth?

So, hasten Lord to help the suff'ring souls;
The world has turned unbearable for most;
The devilized men keep changing their roles;
Triumph of Truth appears almost a ghost.

0 pour thy grace 0 God on men who seek;
Lest Wolves devor the Lambs and Ewes so meek.
