Sonnet: Happy New Year,2017 Poem by Dr John Celes

Each New Year brings new hopes and hypes and dreams;
To make our dreams come true, we must work hard;
Solution to each problem, remote seems;
‘But we should never give up, ' sings the bard!

Should not our children see a better world?
Should not our lives be safer and secure?
Should not the hungry get much better food?
Terrorism must find a natural cure!

May New Year usher happiness to all!
May daunting problems see their solutions!
May more of mankind heed to Maker's call!
Let peace prevail in homes and all nations!

If love of life and neighbor becomes prime,
The earth will paradise be in God's time!
