Sonnet: I’m Lucky Nowadays Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: I’m Lucky Nowadays

The stroke of luck is seeking me at last;
No doubt, it was delayed for me for long;
'Tis time for me to be really fast;
And sing with all my heart, a happy song.

Dame Luck these days is smiling at me oft;
I must reduce my pessimistic tinge;
She calls me lovingly with voice so soft;
I feel as if I've had a joyful binge.

Henceforth I know, I must be rather swift;
The formations of stars all favour me;
I must more widen with devils my rift;
And face the challenges of life bravely.

No more, my fate on earth shall gruesome stay;
I shall never venture to go astray.
