Sonnet: If Topsy-Turvy Goes The World Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: If Topsy-Turvy Goes The World

If world of light turns dark to some brethren,
Fountain of Hope becomes one of Despair;
If golden dreams break-up like ware-earthen,
I wonder if God seems to be still fair!

If scholars teach young mind’s to be unwise,
If law-makers turn into law-breakers,
The food and drink is too costly in price,
Will there be any sensible takers?

If villains win all tussles with heroes,
If ghastly crimes occur within prisons,
If leaders become absolute zeros,
Most people would prefer to drink poisons.

Although some try to make the world like this,
The Maker knows to fill the void with Bliss!
