When we were younger, had so little, yet,
The happiness, poor parents gave was much;
As parents now, we give too much but get
Not even words of kindness, soothing touch!
This paradox of life mind-boggling grows;
Discontent fills both hearts and minds with time;
All love's unrequited that kindred sows,
Despite the strife, life brings, when changes clime.
Humanity is turning less humane;
And blind are eyes, and deaf are ears to love;
Mankind avoids the tougher, narrow lane,
Forgetting love of God awesome, above.
May human hearts nurture more gratitude
With time, and turn new leaf and attitude!
