Sonnet: On Love-Marriage Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: On Love-Marriage

Some love to love a girl or boy of choice,
And marry her or him as per one's dream,
Without giving their parents any voice,
Inviting family's anger and steam!

This is because they just believe in self,
And do not care for others' opinion,
But place their duties to loved ones in shelf,
And take their spouse alone as pillion!

To what extent such acts are right, none know!
The plight of family turns pitiable;
To parents, siblings, duty, we all owe;
Our life on earth is unlike in fable.

Though love-marriage is good in its own ways,
Responsibilities, we shouldn't efface!
