Sonnet: Prayer For A Good American Prez Poem by Dr John Celes

O God, Give us a President who’s strong
In faith and will, conduct and character;
Who heeds to conscience; sifts right from wrong,
And leads the nation, without pride factor.

O God, show us a most befitting man,
Woman, who rules sans corruption and flaw;
Steer the country from recession; who can
Make the nation proud through most perfect law.

O God, select the leader who hates war,
And won’t allow the unborn to be killed;
Maintains Matrimony holy by far-
Fetched measures; brings peace to all, God-willed.

Give us a President, who fears the Lord,
And rules by wisdom; not by bullet, sword.
