Sonnet: Revere The National Flag Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: Revere The National Flag

The flag of every nation should fly high
Atop some buildings on important days;
A patriotic Indian can't deny
That proud moment, when respect lights his face.

Salute the Indian tricolor that flies
Atop the mast - a symbol of our pride,
Revere the national flag that well unites
The country's fellowmen, and not deride.

All differences must vanish when our flag
Is hoisted high and flutters in the wind,
And makes the Indian hearts glad, and not sag
In shame, as we shout loudly in one voice, ‘Jai Hind! '

The Indian tricolor makes India proud,
As Indians sing their nation's anthem loud.
