Sonnet - Sweetness Of Triumph Poem by Peter S. Quinn

Sonnet - Sweetness Of Triumph

Much sweetness comes within its fullest page
And in its nodding of its tender fire
Their dreams slowly reading innermost desire
That gives from its deep its truer more wage
Moments of grace in its timeless age
The reach of the soul to higher and higher
Like footsteps through paths that never did tier
Without the limitedness of bird's locked cage

The heart in its beating upon its chest
With hope that pushes on through its own prime
Each conclusion of aspiring that can't rest
And gives ageless wonder in its time
The sweetness of triumph that rushes still on
Even at moment when all else seems gone
