Sonnet: The Omnipotent Creator Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: The Omnipotent Creator

God made the planet earth, the only place
For human race to live and procreate;
And set the stars and galaxies to gaze
Light years afar, with light to radiate.

The universe is proof of God’s greatness;
The human mind has curiosity;
The earth has things for man all to harness;
Discontent man stares up – a great pity.

Man’s life-time is too short to reach the stars;
The earth’s resources well suffice for life;
The heart of man is prying into Mars,
While Nature’s furies hurt him like a knife.

Such gorgeous things cannot have come by chance;
Denying God is men of science’s mere dance!
