Sonnet: The World, We See Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: The World, We See

What types of people have we seen on earth?
The growing list is stupendous in sight;
Yet, righteous ones are still in world, a dearth;
But darkness can’t ever prevail on light!

Though born in light, we human beings slip
Into the world of darkness – sinfulness;
The so-called joy becomes a bitter sip,
When we wallop in its miry excess!

The human nature has its weakness much;
God sees the heart of man and reads his thought;
If not for God’s forgiveness and grace-touch,
We could not win the wars, we always fought.

God loved His creature man without limits;
But sadly man returns this love in bits!
